Naudé’s work is comparable with Anne Carson’s and reminds one of the tone and motives of Breytenbach and Krog. The selector defends the style and argues “the text works. Naudé’s In die geheim van die dag won the Protea prize for poetry in 2005 and the M-Net prize for Afrikaans Poetry 2005. Die nomadiese oomblik won the Ingrid Jonker prize in 1997.
